the tattoo
People get a tattoo to make something permanent. But the funny thing is, nothing is permanent. That’s life. Things change. People change. Our tastes change. The restaurant that was #1 30 years ago isn’t #1 today. But change is scary. And difficult to navigate.
That’s why we need wommp. To keep us up to date with the current situation. To provide us with the most recent opinions from our trusted sources on what we will and won’t like before we step outside. Because last year, last month, even last week’s opinion may be too old. Navigating with an outdated map won’t work. And neither will navigating with the tattoo of the past, because the only thing that remains permanent over time is change.
Perhaps something deserves to be tattooed after all...

Alexandra,
Great job starting up the blog! Saw Boris Mann's shout out to you in his newsletter.
As for change, and as you mentioned, the amount of information that will be out there will only increase with time. In the near future, if not now already, we will need not more information, but ways and sources to receive better and more relevant information. I can definitely see wommp playing an important role in this. The key will be to keep things relevant. 2 years ago when I joined Facebook, most of the feeds I received and event invitations I received were very relevant as they were sent by my friends, but over the years the amount of Facebook spam I've received has increased. Perhaps that might be fault for not being more selective over the groups I joined and friends I accepted. Hmm mybe this weekend I'll have do a little Facebook clean up. Have to love self-therapy.
Absolutely! You’ve hit the nail on the head. It’s not the content that’s needed, which as you said is increasing daily, but the filters. That’s the key to our success - wommp’s ability to deliver the right information to the right people at the right time. Can’t wait!
p.s. I agree re Facebook. Too much spam. It’s starting to remind me of the ol’ hotmail days. Perhaps I also need to do some spring cleaning...
Great opening to your blog page. And very true. It IS filtering that we need in the brave new world. Because never before have we had so much information cascading our way. WOMMP with its inherent "people we trust" filter - provides a valuable service. What has changed most dramatically is our desire to hear the voices of regular folks - along with those of the "experts." But hearing a rave from a friend or trusted fellow - gives valuable decision making power to the consumer. Have fun Alex. You deserve the best!
